The “Federico II” University of Naples was established in 1226 and is one of the oldest State University in Italy. The University of Naples “Federico II” is the biggest university in southern Italy, enrolling more then 98,000 students with a wide and varied course offering. The Department of Physics is the one of largest department, including about 140 personnel members. Main themes of research, other than physics education are: astrophysics and plasma physics; applied methods physics; experimental particle physics; general physics; nuclear physics; physics of matter, theoretical physics; geophysics.
